Ballet Austin
Ballet Austin was made for the main purpose of dancing. Everyone who goes there knows that it is to preserve the arts and do it willingly. Ballet Austin has "The Academy" the official dance school,classes range from professionals to 3 year olds. From the advanced group they specially pic 8 pupils to preform with Ballet Austin II. Ballet Austin II are the performers that do preformances such as The Taming of the Shrew,The Nutcracker,The Rite of Spring,Cult of Color: Call to Color The Art of Trenton Doyle Hancock and Giselle. All of these performances can be seen at the Long Center.
Zach Scott Theater
The Zach Scott theater was founded in 1933 first named Austin Civic Theatre. It was then named Zachary Scott in honor of the Austin raised Academy Awarded Nominee Actor best known for his movie Mildred Pierce and Cass Timberlane. Today the Theater is home to over 500 different performances every year. Productions have a wide range of different programming that includes both professional Main stage plays and musicals, and Theatre for the youth. ZACH's persistence into making the arts meaningful and contributions to the Austin's and even the worlds theater field has been awarded. The Zach Scott has also been a big influence in furnishing Austin's culture.
The Paramount Theater
The Paramount theater has stood in downtown Austin for nearly 100 years. In fact it was first used as Sam's Houston's
office and the War Department of the Republic of Texas. Built in 1915 it has been used to entertain people for a long time. The Paramount presents comedy, drama, music, dance, spoken word, children’s programming and films to more than 200,000 different types performances each year. It is also listed as one of Austin's National Register of Historic Places. The Paramount Theatre plays a special role in making Austin's culture unique. It is used as Austin’s red carpet film premieres as well as part of the SXSW and the Austin Film Festival. It is a key player in hosting many of Austin's major parties.
