South By Southwest ; SXSW
Music is a big part of Texas and an even bigger part of Austin. Even with the big Austin City Limits Music Festival, we need more music. That is where SXSW comes in. SXSW is a music event two weekends and the week in the middle. It is a festival that shows a lot of local and out of state bands.It is spread through out downtown Austin; in the bars and the shops.
Not only is SXSW a music festival but it also has film, technology, and fashion events or conferences. SXSW is a long event which has its ups and downs. The ups are that you can see and attend many of the events and musical performances. The down side is that downtown is really busy and crowded. It becomes hard to find parking and or get into restaurants.
Many people come out and enjoy the music and festivities by four or five, then stay out til late at night or early in the morning. Many of the shops have their doors open and have special things going on, hoping to get a lot of business.
SXSW has a comedy event too. There is something for everyone. It is a fun event that people really get in to. Through out the streets and the events held by SXSW there are fun things to do when walking to the places. Food vendors come and there is an array of food types. It is a fun event for the city and people visiting.
